We Draw Life
We draw beyond what we see
About us
Every session is a new chapter. At We Draw Life, you don't simply draw a model. You step into a world. Characters emerge from myth, literature and history. Light shapes the scene. Music fills the room. For two hours, drawing becomes storytelling.
No experience needed. Just curiosity.
What chapter will you step into?
We Exhibit!
At the end of every season, our community's drawings step off the page and onto gallery walls. What begins in candlelight, in a room full of quiet focus, becomes something shared: a night of stories, faces, and finished work, seen by more than just the hand that drew it.Three seasons. Three exhibitions. Here's where our drawings have traveled so far.
A Myth in Drawings — May 2026
For a full season, We Draw Life Berlin journeyed through Greek mythology, gods, heroes, passion, tragedy, transformation, drawn live, session by session, through movement, story, music and light.A Myth in Drawings presents the result: twenty artworks created in real time during our sessions at Café Plume and Bar Torte, under the pressure of the moment, following the season's unfolding myth. Each drawing carries not just the model, but the atmosphere and story of the night it was born.A celebration of courage, observation, and a community that dared to draw. And exhibit!
Who we are

We Draw Life is an immersive storytelling life drawing community where drawing meets character, atmosphere and narrative. Founded in 2022, it's built on one simple idea: life drawing can be more than studying a pose, it can be a story you step into. Each session unfolds like a new chapter. Models step into character, while music, light and carefully chosen props create a world around them. For two hours, participants are invited to observe, imagine and draw their way into a story. No experience needed. Just curiosity. Our themes travel across mythology, literature, history and original narratives, giving every session its own visual language, atmosphere and emotional world. We believe life drawing can be more than the study of the human figure. It can be a way of experiencing stories, discovering new perspectives and connecting with others through drawing.Since its foundation, We Draw Life has grown into a creative community of artists, illustrators, designers, students and drawing enthusiasts. The work created during our sessions doesn't have to end when the evening does. Three group exhibitions have brought drawings from our sessions together, most recently A Myth in Drawings in May 2026, giving our community the opportunity to see their work in a gallery setting and share it with a wider audience.
Hi, I'm Ioanna Tsolakidou, 2D animator, storyboard artist, illustrator, and drawing and animation instructor, the one dreaming up every chapter you step into.Drawing has always been at the heart of my work. Through We Draw Life, I bring together my passion for drawing, storytelling, character and atmosphere to create the kind of life drawing experience I believe in: immersive, imaginative and deeply human.Every session is carefully conceived as its own little world, from the character and poses to the music, lighting and visual details.Every session is a new chapter.
Every drawing tells a different story.

Theme: The Odyssey

Set sail into a world of heroes, monsters, gods and strange encounters. This season, We Draw Life reimagines Homer's Odyssey, one protagonist at a time, bringing each character to life through drawing, movement and imagination. But beneath the epic adventure lies something deeply human: a journey through uncertainty, temptation, loss, transformation and the search for home. Each character carries a different piece of that journey. One pose, one story, one chapter at a time. The stage is set. Past Exhibitions
A Myth in Drawings wasn't our first exhibition, it was our third. Here's where it all began.
The Very First Exhibition of The Nudes - June 2023
17 June 2023 · ArtSquare Berlin, FriedrichshainOur very first exhibition, and the first time We Draw Life's drawings ever left a session and met the public. Eighteen artists, one shared space, one shared leap of courage. This is where it all started.
The Second Exhibition of The Nudes - June 2024
2 June 2024 · Bar Torte, NeuköllnThirty artists, a full season's worth of work, brought together and shown for an entire week at Torte. Bold lines, realism beside abstraction, every drawing carrying its own hand, its own eye, its own way of seeing the same room. Our second exhibition, and the beginning of a tradition. We celebrated with a drink, closed a creative and unique season, and returned to drawing again that September.
